RCR NEWS & INFO
Update: 27 -11- 23 RCR NEWS We had an issue with the website, on Sunday, that caused it to crash for a short period of time. This error resulted in the loss of the player, and other major applications needed for the site to function. This was quickly corrected, but there are still some elements which need to be applied or re adjusted. We will be working on these throughout the week and making any changes required. There was no show from Selecta Jabba because of illness, and no early Saturday morning session from Simba Natty last weekend. but we welcomed the return of Just T and Marcy Marce in the studio. They were back after spending the last few weeks away attending with other important matters. Their show is back on Saturday's from a new time of 4 until 7 PM. PROFILES

After service we then complete the marathon set finishing the session at 2 pm. The whole session is then replayed from 12 am Monday mornings as we go into Bigzz Mondayz that sees me back in the studio after the replay finishes. I learnt my trade from playing on a number of the leading sound systems from back in the days, i still do 'my thing in the shubeens and underground blues scene, With over a decade worth of radio DJ experience my shows are for those who love music full of style and quality. I'm in the studio every Tuesday from 10 pm until 12 am. Also through the early hours of Saturday morning from 1 am until 8 am. I'm a Reggae fanatic that enjoys playing all styles of Reggae Dancehall from the 1970s until now. Got my first experience with radio back in early 2000s as a teenager, part of a crew called mellow vibez, and also playing on sound systems at small parties, mainly organizing tunes and assisting the DJ. I alternate my Thursday slot between my Reggae Dancehall and RnB/Hip Hop Night shows. Then on Sunday it's strictly records i select for my Sound System Sunday show. Music is life! JUST T I started playing music from 1986 and had my first sound system from the age of 21 years old. I joined up with my friends who moved from Huddersfield to London. The sound was called ‘Turbo 90’ and we use to play all over the UK, after years of playing out together, the sound broke up so I went solo. I’ve been playing out at all types of functions ie weddings, christenings, birthday parties and funeral receptions. I play all genre of music to cater for everybody’s taste but my love of music lies with: Roots, Reggae, Lovers Rock, Soul and Rare Groove, I also love to chat on the mic. MARCY MARCE My passion for music started in the mid 1980s, I use to hangout in two of my favourite record shops ‘Foot Printz’ in Finsbury Park and ‘Wired for Sound’ in Hackney on Saturdays, buying the latest RnB, Soul and Rare Groove tunes and just listening to music and I have built up a large selections of records and CDs over the years. I started DJing in the late 1980s at my brother’s house party raves also my ex-partner has a sound system, I use to DJ with him at parties and other private functions. I ended up putting my DJing on hold due to having my son. I started DJing again when I met my current partner ‘DJ Just T’, we have been playing at quite a few parties, BBQs and other private functions such as birthday parties and christenings etc. My main genre of music is RnB, Soul and Slow Jamz but I also enjoy playing a bit of Rare Grooves, RnB Gospel and Funky House. We began at the beginning of the first lock down to provide and outlet for people locked up in their homes due to the COVID pandemic. Starting off as a comedy show with music to up-build our community, we now have Black History discussions, Featured Guests from our community, Quiz and Games. Most importantly we 'support each other'. We have grown and come to be providing Evenings of Black Entertainment.
Content for DJ Don is not available as yet. This will be updated soon. I have been a collector, and player,of music for many years with a varied selection of many different styles.of music. Reggae though makes the majority of my collection. My main source of inspirations came from the early 80's Reggae Dance Hall and Roots era by listening and following certain sounds in the UK and around the world. This lead me to work with some local sounds within North London and eventually i then started to play my own little set in private functions and working in some of the numerous black music venues that use to be available at the time. My show, All Things Reggae, delivers a 2 hour mixture of old & new Reggae music and is online every Friday evening from 11pm until 1am Saturday morning. |
