Black women are limited in how much they can do as individuals to keep themselves safe during the perinatal period. Black Maternity Matters acknowledges this and pushes the responsibility back on to care givers. Black Maternity Matters is a ground-breaking collaboration, supporting perinatal teams to reduce the inequitable maternity outcomes faced by Black mothers and their babies. Black Maternity Matters is a deep, long and challenging anti-racist programme combined with quality improvement project implementation for NHS perinatal teams. The work contributes to both individual and systemic change. |
